Val di Merse - June 2nd

This 4-day trip trough the Terre di Siena begins with a stop in the beautiful and unspoiled Val di Merse.

Its soft hills, its woods, small villages still very populated, typical of this inner part of Tuscany will be the common thread of this first stage which will have its epilogue in the visit to the Abbey of San Galgano, built in 1200 and characterized from the lack of a roof, and to the Hermitage of Montesiepi, site of the real Sword in the Stone.

At the Abbey of San Galgano there is a meeting point for all groups who, on a number of different distances, will participate in this first tour and for those accompanying them who want to take part in the guided tour of this characteristic site.

Chianti - June 3rd

The tour we offer this day is a classic, like the famous and tasteful wine: Chianti.

A tour surrounded by vineyards. Wineries, streets bordered by cypresses, medieval towers and fortified villages are just some of the beauties that we will find along a path that will cross this area, leaving us breathless.

We will stop in the most famous villages such as Castellina in Chianti, Radda in Chianti, Brolio and Gaiole in Chianti, the land of the Eroica, the essence of modern cycling that has its roots in the epic feats carried out on the white roads.

Crete Senesi - June 4th

We will leave Siena behind, riding on a stretch of Via Francigena with the Unesco site of the Val d’Orcia in our eyes. It will be a true mystical experience for all of us. We will cross the most beautiful villages of this land such as Buonconvento, Montalcino and Asciano, not without having made a stop in Monte Oliveto Maggiore. There we will meet the group of not cycling guests and visit together the Abbey, built by Bernardo Tolomei in 1313, full of historical evidences and already famous since the Middle Age, when the pilgrims of the Via Francigena first and the young offspring of the most noble European families of the Grand Tour headed to Rome, stayed there to study the works of Sodoma and his contemporary artists. Our tour will end with the return to Siena along the Via Lauretana, one of the most beautiful roads in the world, set of many movies and TV commercials.

Strade Bianche - June 5th

As the the cherry on the top, the journey that in these days has brought you through the various souls of the Terre di Siena, cannot not include the route of the Strade Bianche.

What we will do is a redesigned part  of the Race path, based on a shorter distance, however keeping intact its salient features, such as the most important stretches of gravel road: Vidritta, Bagnaia, Radi, Presciano, Colle Pinzuto, Tolfe and the legendary Santa Caterina which, with its stone pavement and its final slope always put us amateurs but also professionals to the test.

The effort we will make will be rewarded by the arrival in Piazza del Campo, where a welcome drink will be waiting for us.
