early identification of Specific Learning Disorder (SLD) and support for pupils in primary and secondary schools

The @ apprendoLAB + project, which successfully has reached its sixth edition, stems from the need to offer to primary and secondary school pupils a support and a specialized service for the early detection of Specific Learning Disorder (SLD), proposing activities aimed at enhancing the skills in which the children diagnosed with ASD show difficulties.

The project is addressed to the students of the Public Comprehensive Institutes of our territory (Siena and its province). The proposal for a project dedicated to the early identification of learning difficulties and at the same time the activation of afternoon workshops with compensatory tools within the school is intended for the entire school.

Teachers will have an online service for early identification called “InTempo” and an afternoon workshops will be activated for students with DSA certification, with the objective to guide the children during the entire school year.

The presence of specialized operators, able to identify and propose the most appropriate course of study, shared with the teachers, has the sole objective to develop the entire learning potential of each pupil throughout an integrated and continuous approach with the use of effective and innovative methodologies, creating a constant alignment between school, family and specialized services.

The project will be carried out in collaboration with Serenamente Association of Siena which will provide the professional know how of trained and qualified psychologists, speech therapists, educators and operators, all experienced in the field of Specific Learning Disorders.
